Wausau residents are asking the city to delay plans for street construction after a new series of tests found dangerous toxin levels in the soil. “Citizens for an Environmentally Safe Thomas Street” disagreed with the results of earlier testing and paid for their own test. They say the results show the top-soil is contaminated. Those test results have been forwarded to the city and its Public Works Department is asking the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for an analysis.
