Several people received minor injuries as the result of a two-vehicle
crash early Saturday evening in the town of Cooperstown. The MTC
County Sheriff’s Office says that a Toyota pickup truck driven by 22
year-old Pierce Campbell of Fredonia was traveling northbound on
I-43 near Fisherville Road shortly before 7 when he approached a county snowplow operating with its amber caution lights driven by 49-year-old Randy L. Skubal of Whitelaw. An accident report states that when Campbell attempted to slowdown to Skubal’s speed he lost control and collided with the rear-end of the snowplow. Campbell’s truck entered the ditch, colliding with the opposite side embankment before coming to rest upright. The snowplow ended up on the shoulder. Passengers in the truck were identified as 21 year old Jensen Campbell, 16 year old Madison Campbell of Fredonia and
21-year-old James A. Stewart of Milwaukee. All three were wearing seatbelts and along with Skubal were taken to a local hosptial for treatment. Pierce Campbell was cited for following too close.
