The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says one of its deputies had just made a traffic stop Thursday morning, when he was almost seriously injured. The deputy’s name hasn’t been released. He told supervisors he spotted a vehicle coming dangerously close to him while he was beside his squad car. He was hit on the hand as he moved out of the way, and the driver’s side mirror on the county vehicle was damaged. The 48-year-old driver has been arrested on several charges, including operating while intoxicated. Investigators think he was drug-impaired. The deputy was treated by firefighters and released.
