With that basket a little more than a minute into the second half vs. Laconia Saturday night Valders senior Kyle Tuma became the 10th boy and the 15th player in program history to surpass the 1000 point mark in his career. The Vikings improved to 16 and 1 overall with a 70 to 61 victory over the Spartans Saturday night at Valders high school. After the game Kyle spoke of being a part of a very special group.
Kyle refers to Sally and Robert Linzmeier who were on hand to witness his special moment. He also spoke of how special it was to do this on his home floor.
His head coach is Trevor Schoewer.
Kyle ended up leading all scorers with 22 points and ten rebounds. His teammate senior guard Traynor Sundsmo is likely to join the club soon needing 60 points to break that “magical barrier.”
