SLC Wins Tournament Opener in Michigan

Four players reached double digits last night in leading Silver Lake College women’s basketball team to a 75-68 victory over Grace Bible College in Grand Rapids Michigan. The Lady Lakers enjoyed a 15 point halftime lead and after Grace cut the margin to four midway through the 4^th quarter, SLC hit several clutch free throws to seal the win. Danielle Byrum led the way with 15 points, Tasha Rabe turned in a double/double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Hailee Kotche added 12 points and Danelle Buck chipped in 11. Silver Lake, now 12-7, will play a second game in the tournament tonight at 6:00 central time, when coach Mike Flentje’s club meets NAIA School Kentucky Christian.
