Charges Filed Against Two Rivers Man (Update on Child Abuse Death of Infant)

Charges have been filed against a 22 year old Two Rivers man arrested last week on reports of physically abusing a child who died from her injuries on Sunday.  Matthew Brown-Edwards has been charged with first degree reckless homicide, physical abuse of a child, recklessly causing great bodily harm & possession of drug paraphernalia.  Police were called to a northside Two Rivers residence January 17th for the report of a baby that was not breathing and unconscious.  The infant was resuscitated and transferred to a local hospital, then flown to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee where she passed away.  Brown-Edwards, the boyfriend of the baby’s mother, was taken into custody and remains in the Manitowoc County Jail in lieu of $150,000 cash bail.  His initial appearance is scheduled for Monday (January 29th) afternoon at 2:30.
