Hydro-excavating work began today on Manitowoc’s northside by an AT&T contractor resulting in intermittent lane closures. Greg Minikel of the city’s Department of Public Works and infrastructure says approximately 60 test holes are being tested in- order- to determine the depth of their facilities and to avoid conflicts for the upcoming reconstruction of Waldo Blvd. In 2019. Minikel says the north most lane of westbound traffic on Waldo between North Eighth Street and Fleetwood Drive will be the primary lane closure. Work is expected to continue for approximately two weeks weather permitting and motorists are urged to slow down and use caution within these construction zones.
