The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s office today released names & details of a three-vehicle crash on I-43 near Cleveland late yesterday morning. Sheriff Rob Hermann said 69-year old John Ward..of New Franken, was northbound in the right lane near County Highway XX and trailing a semi & snowplow in the ‘left’ lane. When ‘Ward’ attempted to pass the county dump truck, his unit struck the plow’s blade…then the semi-trailer. Sheriff Hermann said the Green Bay area man’s vehicle ‘rolled an unknown number of times’ following impact. He was airlifted via flight for life helicopter to Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah with non life threatening injuries. The other two drivers..26-year Oleksandr (oh’-lek-sander) Borys (bor’-eez) of Mount Pleasant, Illinois..and 51-year old Kevin Resch of Manitowoc were ‘not’ injured.
