The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reports nearly 100 people are being hospitalized every day with flu symptoms. About 70 percent are over the age of 65. Doctors say hospitals are overwhelmed. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expected to upgrade the state’s flu outbreak to “severe.” Wisconsin has seen a total of 24-hundred-30 patients admitted so far this season. Health experts say it’s not too late to get the shot because much of the flu season remains. There have been fatalities, but the number isn’t known because only flu deaths of those under 18 are reported in Wisconsin.
