SLC Topples Finlandia University

The Silver Lake Woman’s Basketball team overcame an early 8 point deficit Saturday, and went on to defeat visiting Finlandia University 69-47. The Lady Lakers, now 11-7, rallied to grab a 30-29 halftime lead over the NCAA Division 3 School, and pulled away in the second half. Tasha Rabe paced SLC with 16 points and 8 rebounds, while Hailee Kotche added 14 points and 9 boards, and Danielle Byrum chipped in 11 points. Coach Mike Flentje told us his Silver Lake squad will travel to Grand Rapids Michigan this week to compete in the Grace Bible College Classic. Their opening game in the Tournament will be against the host school on Thursday Night.
