The Kenosha Unified School District confirms one of its principals has been put on unpaid leave for allegedly stealing school property. Cherise Easley was charged with felony theft Thursday. If convicted, she could be sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison. Police started a property theft investigation last fall after being notified more than one-thousand dollars worth of items from the school were missing. Investigators say a laptop computer and projector were used at the church Easley ran with her husband. Other items were used at a daycare which she ran out of her home.
