A 33-year-old Beloit man could get up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced March 2nd. The Rock County prosecutor’s office says Barquis McKnight has agreed to plead to a lesser charge of homicide by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon. Investigators say McKnight shot 28-year-old Eddie Lee Jones in the face after the two men had argued last May. The killing was the first homicide in Janesville in three years.
