Medford police say a 31-year-old man was apparently high on cold and flu medication when he started shooting a stolen gun and held authorities in a five-hour standoff. Jake Wendt made a Taylor County court appearance Thursday. Police say he stole a .38-caliber pistol from a neighbor, loaded it and started making threats and delusional comments. He fired eight shots into the ceiling and walls before refusing to surrender to authorities. Nobody was hit. Wendt could face up to 10 felony charges. He returns to court March 6th.
