January is National Blood Donor Month, and the American Red Cross is urging those that are able to donate. The Red Cross is in desperate need of blood after over 150 blood drives were canceled due to inclement weather. In November and December, they were short around 28,000 donations, and are already short over 5,500 this year. According to the Red Cross, every two seconds, someone in the United States in in need of blood. The Red Cross supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood.
