The Marquette University police chief has been placed on administrative leave after receiving a citation for operating while intoxicated. Chief Paul Mascari was off-duty when he was stopped. Mascari has been employed by the university since 2004 and has headed its police department since its creation in 2015. He is a U-S Marine Corps veteran and is currently an officer in the Coast Guard Reserves. A statement from the university says it takes the conduct of all of its employees “very seriously.”
