A Manitowoc man was taken into police custody following a two day domestic violence related incident. On Sunday January 14 at around 8:15 AM, police were called to a home on the 900 block of South 26th street, when the father of a woman reported that the woman had asked him to call police. Upon arrival, police heard loud arguing coming from the residence. The yelling turned out to be a couple arguing, because the woman wanted to drop their child off and go to church, while the man did not want to watch the child. Police helped calm the pair, but the woman continued to appear fearful of the man. The following day, the woman reported to police that she was struck by the man, causing physical injury. While the man was being taken into custody, he became physically aggressive toward the arresting officers. The man has been charged with Domestic Violence Related Disorderly Conduct, and may have no contact with the woman, her residence, or their child.
