The Racine County Sheriff’s Office says the man who frightened passengers on a Greyhound bus by making threats last week was in the country illegally. Thirty-three-year-old Margarito Vargas-Rosas lives in Chicago, but he works in Milwaukee. Witnesses say he threatened to kill the passengers on the bus traveling between Milwaukee and Chicago Friday night. Several passengers called 9-1-1 to report the threats, but the situation was complicated when the bus driver wouldn’t pull over intially. Investigators didn’t say why Vargas-Rosas had been deported. No weapons were found on him when he was booked into jail.
