Fatal Manitowoc County Accident

A 45 year old Kiel woman has died as a result of a two vehicle crash in the Town of Eaton over the weekend. Manitowoc County Sheriff Deputy Inspector, Jason Orth, says a preliminary investigation determined the victim, Ananda Kemler Hughes was traveling south on U.S. Highway 151, west of Eaton Road, at around 5:50 Saturday afternoon, when she collided with a northbound pickup truck, being driven by a 23 year old rural Chilton Woman. The Hughes was the lone occupant of her vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second woman and her passenger, a 26 year Timothy Peterson, a rural Chilton man, were transported to a local hospital via ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.  The crash remains under investigation by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, County Coroner’s Office, and the State Patrol. EMS personnel from the County Highway Department, Valders, St. Nazianz, Kiel, Chilton, Flight for Life, and the State Patrol assisted County Sheriff’s Deputies at the scene.
