The Missouri re-development company which purchased the vacant General Motors assembly plant plans to demolish the building. Commercial Development Company says it is often cheaper to build new than try to retro-fit an existing structure. The G-M plant first opened at the 250-acre site nearly a century ago. C-D-C will clean the buildings, then start the demolition in late March or early April. The property would be ready for re-development by early 2019.
