Beavers Causing Problems On Wind Lake Canal

Officials with the Town of Norway and the Wind Lake Management District are working on a solution to an unwanted dam which has been built on the Wind Lake Canal.  That channel connects Big Muskego Lake in Waukesha County to Wind Lake in Racine County.  The dam was built in the middle of the canal by beavers, standing about two-feet above the water level.  The officials say it isn’t causing any problems now, but if it is expanded it could. Lake access could be limited for the 30-to-40 property owners — or, it could cause flooding.  Two local trappers may be hired to resolve the issue.
