A portion of South Eighth Street that closed during yesterday’s storm is reopened to traffic. The Manitowoc Fire Department tells Seehafer News that is was reopened earlier this afternoon after pieces of the village square’s metal facade fell to the sidewalk creating a hazard. There were also concerns that more pieces might fall and take out power lines nearby. The fallen pieces were cleaned up and removed today as weather conditions drastically improved. Manitowoc Police along with various city department and Manitowoc Public Utilities responded to the initial call.
