According to Appleton Police, a student at Horizons Elementary School suffered a head injury during a bullying incident. The School Resource Unit contacted police on Tuesday, and reported that the incident took place during recess during a game of tag when the child says he was placed in a head lock, and slammed to the ground by another student. It was several hours later, that the child’s mother says she found out, and immediately took him to a doctor, where it was discovered he suffered a stage 2 concussion. Appleton Police say a School Resource Officer will complete “a thorough investigation” of the incident. The mother said she wants to see the district punish the students involved, which have not been identified.
