On 12-13-17 at approximately 10:40 AM, Officers were traveling in the 800 Block of Maritime Dr. and noticed a few subjects on the side of the road who appeared to be arguing. Officers made contact with the subjects and learned that one of the subjects had been operating a 4 door sedan traveling north bound on Maritime Dr. and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle ultimately left the roadway and landed in Lake Michigan.
The operator, a 50 year old Manitowoc man, was the single occupant in the vehicle and claimed only a minor injury. He later went to the hospital on his own accord. No other vehicles were involved and weather and road conditions were a factor. Due to the current weather conditions, the vehicle was not immediately removed from the lake. The Manitowoc Police Department is working with other agencies to have the vehicle removed as soon as practical.
