A Mosinee man will be sentenced Thursday in Marathon County for stealing more than a half-million dollars from his friend. James Dupuis agrees to pay the friend back as a part of his plea deal. The friend financed the 74-year-old’s house-flipping company called Own Your Own. It was dissolved last January and Dupuis was charged a month later. Several years after borrowing the money, Dupuis told the victim he had been lying, he and his wife had been using the money for living expenses, and he had no way to pay back the loan. Court papers indicate the victim may be out nearly one-million dollars.
