50 Workers Returning As Paper Plant Restarts 1 Of Its Machines

A decision by the paper company Appleton Coated to restart one of its machines means 50 workers will be called back to their jobs.  Outagamie County officials are calling the move “a big step foward.”  Several months ago, 600 hundred workers were laid off when the company entered receivership.  Then, in October, Industrial Assets purchased the distressed company and started looking for a buyer.  U-S Senator Tammy Baldwin has questioned why P-N-C Bank called in its loan to Appleton Coated — demanding full payment — when the company had never missed a payment.
