Bird watchers are being told it could be a good winter in Wisconsin for sighting snowy owls. They are considered to be among the most charismatic wildlife creatures. The Journal-Sentinel is reporting nearly 70 snowy owls had been spotted in Wisconsin by the week before Thanksgiving. At this time last year that number was just three, and the total of snowy owls spotted all last winter was 82. Wildlife viewers, photographers and others are being asked to remain at a distance to avoid stressing the snowy owls.
