An Oshkosh man has pleaded guilty to selling the powerful opioid fentanyl and meth to a woman who died. Television station W-B-A-Y report that 40-year-old Anthony R. Chaplin appeared in federal court today (Monday) in Green Bay. He pleaded guilty to distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine resulting in the death of another. Chaplin admitted to selling fentanyl and meth to an Appleton area woman in May of 2017. The woman died of an overdose. Chaplin admitted getting the fentanyl from his supplier in Oshkosh. Chaplin faces a mandatory sentence of 20 years in prison. His is scheduled to be sentenced on February 20th, 2018. The U-S Department of Justice says the supplier’s batch of fentanyl has been linked to four additional overdose deaths in the Fox Valley. Those deaths remain under investigation.
