The dean of Wisconsin’s U-S House delegation is not pleased with how fellow G-O-P Senator Ron Johnson opposes the proposed tax overhaul. Menomonee Falls Republican Jim Sensenbrenner says Johnson was “strutting around like a peacock” this week when he said he would not vote for the tax cutting package that would eliminate some deductions and raise federal deficits. Johnson, who sold 95 percent of his Oshkosh plastics maker, said he objected to omitting companies like his former one in which owners pay taxes on their personal returns instead of corporate returns. Johnson said that if his fellow Republicans can pass the bill without his help, “let them.” If two more G-O-P senators joined Johnson in opposing the tax bill, it would be defeated.
