A Kenosha woman is free on a signature bond, after she pleaded not guilty to 20 misdemeanor charges in a dog hoarding case. Prosecutors say 66-year-old Darleen Chick had 52 dogs removed from her former home in Pleasant Prairie. Police and animal control officials responded to the home after someone complained that Chick had junk stored on her property. Chick told investigators that she and her late husband used to run a kennel, and she claimed to have just seven dogs. The 52 pets were taken to the Safe Harbor Humane Society in Kenosha. Chick is due back in court December 8th for a hearing on pretrial requests.
