Far northern Wisconsin is starting to get another heavy dose of winter. A cold front pushed high waves across Lake Superior today (Wednesday). Snow is expected to arrive by early evening with up to 10 inches possible in Iron County, six inches in Vilas County, and five inches in Ashland County. The National Weather Service has winter storm advisories, watches, and warnings in effect for the far north from 6 P-M (Wednesday) until midnight tomorrow (Thursday). By Friday morning, the coldest temperatures of the season are due in with lows dropping to three degrees at Rhinelander. Lows in Southern Wisconsin could fall into the teens Friday morning, with a steady warmup during the weekend. Almost the entire state could see 40 degrees again by Monday or Tuesday.
