A Manitowoc man was arrested on several charges after he admitted to entering a man’s home, and used his checkbook and is suspected of stealing his handgun. After a Manitowoc Man returned home on the 1800 block of South 10th Street, from vacation he discovered his 9mm handgun was missing, and several items in his home were misplaced. Upon inspection of his bank account, he also discovered that two checks were used at a local Kwik Trip store. The man informed police that he believed his son may be the culprit, as he admitted to entering the home. The son admitted to police to entering the home, and using the check book, and one of his father’s rifles, but denied taking the handgun. Several items of drug paraphernalia were discovered in the man’s car, so he was taken in on charges of Burglary to Dwelling, Possession of Non-Scheduled Drug, Theft of a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and two counts each of Forgery Checks, and Forgery Uttering. The man must now have no contact with the victim or his residence and remain absolutely sober.
