Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says John Kasich stepped into an issue he didn’t understand when he supported a Democratic lawsuit challenging the state’s 2011 redistricting. New York Magazine wrote that Vos confronted the Ohio governor at a meeting in that state in September, and Vos told Kasich he betrayed the G-O-P by signing a legal brief opposing the state’s legislative districts in a gerrymandering case the U-S Supreme Court is expected to decide next year. The magazine story was a profile of Kasich’s apparent plan to run for president again in 2020. It said Vos swore at Kasich, and Vos says the governor can characterize that “however he wants.” Vos also said he did not exactly accuse Kasich of betraying his party, but that might have been Kasich’s implication — and Vos said he wanted to Kasich to know his actions have consequences.
