A fatal officer-involved shooting last August in Columbia County has been ruled “justified” by the district attorney. A Pardeeville man, Thomas J. Selje, was shot to death by a deputy when he pointed a gun at the deputy and a woman who was being led to safety. The 9-1-1 call came in at 7:45 p-m August 21st. Selje had reported said he would kill any law enforcement officers who showed up. As Columbia County deputies arriving on the scene in Pardeeville, at least two shots were fired in their direction. When Selji walked toward the deputy and the woman, he was killed.
