State Attorney General Brad Schimel is among 100 people attending a vigil to show support for Wisconsin officers who died in the line of duty. Wednesday’s event was in response to the vandalizing of the state’s Law Enforcement Memorial on the State Capitol grounds one month ago. Somebody spray painted “Justice for Anthony Smith” after his alleged killer, Saint Louis police officer Jason Stockley, was acquitted. The group “We Support the Madison Police Department” organized the vigil to focus on the 273 Wisconsin officers killed on duty.
