Former Wisconsin gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke has released a new smartphone app that seeks to connect and empower women. Burke has a non profit group called “Building Brave” that launched the app today (Wednesday). Its goals are to form an international community of up to ten-million women, and give them resources to make their skills stronger so they can realize their full potential. College students and young professional women are the main groups the app will try to reach. Burke is a former official of her family’s Trek Bicycle company in Waterloo — she got 46-percent of the vote against Governor Scott Walker in 2014 — and she remains on the Madison School Board.
