A 68-year old Manitowoc man was taken to a Green Bay hospital late yesterday afternoon…following a car versus motorcycle collision, just northwest of the city. Alvin Brachmann of 1932 Pleasant Street…suffered several broken bones to an arm and a leg in the crash on county trunk ‘P’, near Basswood Road in the town of Manitowoc Rapids. The accident report from the sheriff’s office shows Brachmann was going east on his 2016 motorcycle about 4:15, when the driver of a ‘westbound’ vehicle turned in front of him…into a driveway. Brachmann was transported by Manitowoc Fire Rescue to St. Vincent Hospital. The other motorist, a ‘58’-year southside Manitowoc woman was ‘not’ injured..while a 6-year old female passenger sustained an arm abrasion..and was taken by private vehicle for medical attention. The operator of the car was cited for failure to yield while making a left turn & being in violation of a child safety restraint. Deputy Inspector Jason Orth said county road P was closed to traffic until almost 5:30 last evening.
