Wisconsin’s job creation agency is expected to give final approval today (Tuesday) to the state’s three-billion dollars of incentives for Foxconn. The board of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation held a closed meeting September 28th where they reviewed the various tax breaks and environmental law exceptions that Foxconn will get to build its ten-billion dollar L-C-D screen plant in Mount Pleasant. The panel did not take action at that time, but a bill signed last month by Governor Scott Walker gives the W-E-D-C the final say on the project. There’s also a local incentive package of infrastructure improvements and land transfers totaling 764-million dollars. A final local development agreement still has to be written and approved by the village and Racine County.
