For the second day in a row, Madison sets a new heat record. It was 89 on Sunday in Wisconsin’s capital city, breaking the old mark for September 24th of 88 degrees set in 1935. More than one dozen cities in the Badger State set new heat records on Saturday, as Friendship was the hottest at 93. Another warm day is in the forecast for all but the far northwest portion of Wisconsin, where afternoon highs might not get out of the 60s. The southern half of the state can expect clear to partly cloudy skies with highs in the 80s, and a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms.
