U-S Senator Tammy Baldwin still opposes the latest Obamacare repeal package. The Wisconsin Democrat held a news conference in Madison Sunday to urge Wisconsinites to speak out against the package, which would give block grants to states for federal health care funds. A report last week said Wisconsin would get more in block grants than other states, partially because Governor Scott Walker gave Badger Care coverage to families below the poverty line. But Baldwin still says the Graham/Cassidy health package would take people’s health coverage away — and she called for bipartisan unity to do what’s best for the people. Meanwhile, the Politico Washington news website says the G-O-P may not have the votes to pass the measure, after Texas Republican Ted Cruz announced a no vote Sunday, saying his amendments were not included.
