Retiring Manitowoc County Sheriff Rob Hermann said “like with every job…there have been ups and downs”, but he always enjoyed coming to work every day. Hermann tells Seehafer News that he was first elected sheriff in 2007, and, January 6th , 2019 is technically his last day on the job. He reflected on his 35-plus year career in law enforcement and pointed out he was with Metro Drug back in 1989.
When asked about the biggest challenges facing law enforcement Hermann stated it is the drug problem.
The other challenge, says Rob Hermann, is what he termed a “huge turnover in personnel and trying to find qualified candidates to fill those vacancies.” Hermann will be replaced in the role of sheriff by current Lieutenant Dan Hartwig in January.
