Your Thanksgiving dinner is going to cost a little less this year. According to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau, a home cooked meal for a group of 10 is estimated to cost around $45, or about $4.50 per person. That is around 20 cents less per person than last year. Part of the lower cost is the price turkey has dropped. Last year a 16 LB turkey averaged a cost of $20.96, and the year the same turkey is $1.92 cheaper, at $19.04. Spokesperson Sarah Hetke says that the large supply of fresh and frozen turkeys in preparation for the holidays is the reason for the lower price. Wisconsin’s prices are also lower than the national average, which for a group of10 is estimated to be about $4.89 per person.
