Cardboard City is an event to raise money and awareness for homelessness in Manitowoc County and takes place this weekend at The Haven, a men’s homeless shelter in Manitowoc.
Executive Director Michael Etheridge says “Cardboard City” begins at 4 this afternoon and concludes at 9 tomorrow morning.
28 participants have signed up thus far compared to 18 last year.
You can sleep on just cardboard or provide your own housing and materials to build a tent or as Ethridge said “just sleep in your car”. There will be games for the kids along with karaoke—a soup kitchen and more. Cardboard City is held in conjunction with the Hope House and Manitowoc County Habitat for Humanity.
