A 17 year old Manitowoc boy was arrested yesterday after he attempted to cash a fraudulent check. Police were called to the US Bank in the 1600 block of Washington Street due to the attempted cashing of a check that appeared to be a fraud. The teller at the Bank was able to retain possession of the check and ID of the teen that tried to cash it. Officers then made contact with the individual who supposedly wrote the check, but he denied writing it. Officers then went to the residence listed on the teen’s ID, and asked to enter to arrest the boy. Permission was granted, but the teen resisted. The officers were able to eventually put cuffs on the teen, and arrest him. The teen is now facing charges of Forgery and Resisting Arrest.
