Republican State Senator Leah Vukmir and Democratic U-S Senator Tammy Baldwin faced off in a debate yesterday at UW Milwaukee in the lead up to the November Midterm. Vukmir claims that Baldwin is lying, when she says protections for pre-existing conditions would disappear if Obamacare is repealed
Baldwin says she’s worked in a bi-partisan fashion to strengthen the Affordable Care Act, which she says is being undermined by the Trump administration
Vukmir says people work for different reasons, and she opposes any top down government mandate to address pay inequality between men and women.
Baldwin shot back
Baldwin says she supports gender equity in pay. The two debated for the first time last night, on the campus of UW Milwaukee, and also staked out their positions on health care, taxes, trade and immigration reform.
