The former owner of the Kinship Kennel in the Sheboygan County Town of Wilson has been sentenced to 12 months in jail, and 8 years’ probation. Christy Tuchel received the sentence after it was discovered that she had been mistreating dogs at her kennel with 36 dogs rescued, in poor condition, and 2 freezers were discovered to be filled with dead and decaying canines. She also was convicted on a charge of causing mental harm to a child, for the work she forced an young employee to do. Judge Edward Stengel ordered that Tuchel not be allowed to have pets or animals during her probation. District Attorney Joel Urmanski had recommended a sentence of 5 and a half years behind bars, plus 6 years’ on extended supervision.
