It was grand opening night at Ron Rubick Athletic Field in Manitowoc last night but, visiting Green Bay Preble crashed-the-party and came away with a 20-to-13 win over the Lincoln Ships. The Hornets (2-0) were paced by senior quarterback Jake Dessart, who tallied two Of Preble’s touchdowns on runs of 67 and 11-yards. Lincoln scored on the final play of the 1st Half, a beautifully-designed 6-yard scoring pass from Josh Hoffman to Gavin Stradal to make it 14-7 Green Bay at halftime. Manitowoc then fought back from a 20-to-7 deficit with a 20-yard TD run by Malcome Young late in the 4th quarter. Coach Rick Ducat’s team (0-2) had one-final chance in the final minute but a pass interception sealed the verdict. Young had a big night in a losing effort, rushing 20-times for 138 yards, along with 53 receiving yards, but, 4 turnovers and 7 penalties really hurt the Ships.
