*UPDATE: The Roncalli football game will no longer be at Rubick Field
The Roncalli High School Jets are working hard in preparation for their season opener this Friday. Scott Senglaub is entering year number 3 as the varsity head coach. His players are led by 8 Seniors on the roster.
When they need to go to the air on offense Senglaub says, they have some weapons.
The Jets have two athletes that stand about 6-4 and weigh over 300-pounds, including sophomore Trevor Fiecko. Another newcomer expected to contribute on both sides of the ball is Anthony Klein. Senglaub said Matt Koch has been looking good after being converted from fullback to offensive tackle.
Coach Senglaub said all in the Jets program are really looking forward to opening the season at against Kenosha St. Joseph Friday night.
The Roncalli Jets Football opener Friday night against Kenosha St Joesph’s has been moved from Ron Rubick Athletic Field in Manitowoc to Raider Field in Two Rivers. Manitowoc Lincoln Athletic Director Dave Steavpack says that fencing needs to be completed and Painted and concrete work needs to be completed and cured as part of the summer-long renovation project. Plans are to have the field ready for the Lincoln Ships home opener August 23rd against Green Bay Preble. Friday night’s Game in Two Rivers kicks at 7 with pregame set for 6:45 and will air on WQTC-102.3 FM and wqtcfm.com
