A Sheboygan man is in critical condition following a motorcycle accident on Saturday. A news release issued by the Sheboygan Police Department indicates that the incident occurred at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and North 3rd Street. The cyclist, a 23 year old Sheboygan resident, was traveling east on Michigan Avenue when he was struck by an SUV being driven by a 50 year old Sheboygan man. Witnesses told police that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed just prior to the accident. The 23 year old was flown via Flight for Life to an Appleton area hospital and is currently in critical condition. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident, and the police noted that the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
