The California company which placed dozens of scooters on Milwaukee streets is asking a federal judge to intervene. The city filed an injunction against Bird scooters, saying they violate Wisconsin laws on motorized vehicles. Bird is asking for a grace period so customers can keep using the scooters while the lawsuit progresses. Bird says users have logged almost 25-thousand miles in Milwaukee and the company argues those trips would have generated more than 22-thousand pounds of carbon dioxide emissions if other forms of transportation were used.
