A 22-year-old man from the Netherlands is accused of stalking his former girlfriend, hitting her car with a baseball bat and threatening her with a knife. Gerwin Ferwerda faces a laundry list of charges, including stalking and felony intimidation of a witness. He is free on bond and has a preliminary hearing set for July 27th in La Crosse County Circuit Court. The victim says she broke up with him last December, but he kept trying to contact her. He showed up at her house in Onalaska in late June, hitting her car with the bat when she locked the doors. She says he waved the knife at her and demanded that she get out of the vehicle. She called 9-1-1 and left. He told police he never planned to hurt her.
